TYLER OCASIO HOLMES
I create cinematic work rooted in emotion, identity, and impact. From directing award-winning short films to capturing branded content, my lens is intentional and culturally relevant.
Tyler Ocasio Holmes is a Black American and Puerto Rican filmmaker and visual artist from Virginia Beach, VA. He holds degrees from Columbia University and the University of Southern California’s School of Cinematic Arts (MFA), but it was lived experience—not lectures—that shaped his voice.
Before film, Tyler moved through many worlds: Wall Street firms, political campaigns, grassroots protests, and classrooms of justice-impacted youth. Each space sharpened his perspective and deepened his need for a language expansive enough to hold what he had seen. That language became cinema.
Today, he directs, shoots, and edits work rooted in identity, justice, and emotional transformation. His portfolio spans narrative films, music videos, and branded content for clients like Motown Gospel, Ebony Magazine, and Johns Hopkins University. Whether behind the camera or in the edit, Tyler collaborates with artists, brands, and institutions to craft stories that stir emotion, reclaim space, and live beyond the frame.
